Treat Rosacea Naturally
Isn't it interesting how Rosacea
seems to sneak up on you? First comes that rosy blush; then you notice
that occasional unexplained flush that feels like having a "hot-flash" just in
your face. Before long, bumps like large zits appear on your skin, but
they don't fill with pus or come to a head like pimples. And just about
now, you're heading to the dermatologist crying, "Help!" But wait! Maybe
you'd like to learn about a way to treat Rosacea using a natural remedy.
As you can see from my "Before" photo, my Rosacea
problem had become extreme and extremely embarrassing. This picture was
taken in a hotel room one morning in the Spring of 2002 when my sister and I had
traveled out-of-town on business. Almost in tears, I showed her my "naked"
face with the inflamed patches of Rosacea on my cheeks, nose, and forehead.
I said to her, "Please take a picture of me, because someday I'm going to find a
way to cure Rosacea naturally and I want a 'before' picture so people can see
how bad it was." (The pose appears awkward because I had to lie down to get the
beside table lamp to shine on my face.)
But let's go back to where I believe it all began.
As a teenager, I had the typical "bad complexion" which was treated with light
therapy and antibiotics. The daily antibiotics wiped out the beneficial
microorganisms in my intestines and set me up for yeast overgrowth known as
Candidiasis. This in turn, caused my health to decline and set me up in
the vicious cycle of recurring illnesses followed by recurring antibiotic
treatment. (Learn more about this on
My Story page.) |

In my late thirties, when the
first blush of Rosacea appeared on my cheeks, I was clueless as to what it
was. Friends commented, "My, what rosy cheeks you have!" and I did my best
to cover up the 'glow' with make-up. When inflamed bumps began to appear,
I consulted a dermatologist who diagnosed the condition as Rosacea. He
prescribed the antibiotic Doxycycline and Metrogel for topical application.
After a year of this treatment, with no significant progress toward resolving the
Rosacea, the doctor prescribed Minocycline in place of Doxycycline. As I
stood in my kitchen with the new, full bottle of Minocycline capsules in my hand I
thought, "I can't continue to take these antibiotics every day. This
cannot be good for me!" I stopped taking the drugs, and I began my search
for a natural solution to my Rosacea problem.
I tried a wide variety of healing facials and skin care
potions, and experienced temporary relief with Proactivฎ
products (not a natural, long-term solution). While I
worked on my face from the outside, I believed that the answer would be found on
the inside. I had been using a variety Global Health Trax products for
about one year resulting the the
resolution of several other health challenges. So, when Global Health
Trax introduced
ThreeLac
Candida Defense along with the
Saliva Test (used to verify yeast overgrowth), I decided this new product
might be worth checking out. When I looked over a list of poor health
conditions that could indicate Candida yeast overgrowth, I found the following
challenges that applied to me: fatigue, cold hands & feet, poor memory, mental
fog, vaginal yeast, menstrual problems, PMS symptoms, post-nasal drip,
gas/bloating, allergies, skin rashes & hives, low blood sugar, food cravings,
cystitis (recurring urinary tract infections). I did the
free spit test in the privacy of my home and was astonished with the
results! Without a doubt, I had severe candidiasis (yeast
overgrowth). I ordered
ThreeLac and began
using two packets per day along with
Oxygen Elements Plus,
Active Digestive
Enzymes, Colostrum, and a few other supplements. (Now, it's important to
note that I had not yet made the connection between Rosacea and Candida
overgrowth. I just thought I needed ThreeLac
for all my other symptoms.) About four months after I began using ThreeLac
, I noticed that my Rosacea was beginning to calm down.
With continued use through the months that followed, the Rosacea flare-ups
stopped and my skin cleared. However, if I got lazy and inconsistent about
using ThreeLac or if I ran out of it, the redness
and bumpiness began to creep back in. Consistent use of ThreeLac
and its companion products is key to this natural Rosacea solution. Once I
had the Rosacea under control and my face was staying clear, I switched to using
a maintenance amount of ThreeLac which is one
packet per day. If at any time the redness begins to return, I use an
extra packet of ThreeLac for a few days to settle
it down. Really, it's all about keeping Candida in the intestines where it
belongs, and maintaining a balance of intestinal flora.
Controlling the factors that fuel yeast overgrowth is
also important. 1) Since Candida feeds on sugars and starches, it's wise
to limit your consumption of these things. Right now, you probably can't
imagine doing that because your cravings are so intense. That's the
Candida driving you to eat those unhealthy things. ThreeLac
easily helps you quiet Candida's demanding voice. Then you can choose a
healthier way to eat. 2) Use antibiotics only when they are absolutely
necessary. Antibiotics wipe out beneficial microorganisms right along with
the harmful ones. What follows is the opportunity for Candida yeast to
gain a foothold and take over. As you deal with your yeast challenge and
restore balance to your body, your immune system will strengthen resulting in
fewer illnesses requiring antibiotic treatment. (In the past six years,
I've had only one illness that required antibiotic treatment. Prior to
taking Global Health Trax supplements, I had a minimum of 2-3 illnesses per year
that were treated with drugs.)

immune system. 3) Stress, steroid use, hormone therapy (birth control &
menopause) are other things that can encourage yeast overgrowth.
As you weigh your choices for dealing with Rosacea,
consider the following:
- Do the
Spit Test for Candida and let the results tell you whether or not yeast may
be the cause of your Rosacea.
- Think about your health history. How often have
you used antibiotics? What is your diet like?
- Look over this list of symptoms of Candida
overgrowth. How many of them apply to you?

| Candida Albicans is a
destroyer of health and may be one of the missing links in the diagnosis of
many of our modern-day diseases and poor health conditions. As Candida
yeast overgrows, it becomes fungal and spreads throughout the body.

toxins. Therefore, it may be a major contributor, directly or
indirectly, to the following conditions: |
